NEW AND IMPORTANT: Teachers my now show many National Film Board films in the classroom by accessing them directly from the NFB web site at www.nfb.ca. Film Services is located at the Circulation Desk of the Library at 5C. The collection is comprised of over 2,200 titles in VHS and DVD format and includes educational films, documentaries and feature films.Searching for films Search for films using the Library catalogue. You can search by title or by subject. Limit the format to Video(DVD) or Video(VHS). To access a complete list of all films in our online catalogue, simply search for the keyword "videorecording". For help with searching, ask a Reference Librarian located at 6C in the library. Check for new titles of films on our New Acquisitions page. Faculty - can borrow films from Film Services for previewing and for use in the classroom. To ensure that your films are available when you need them we advise that you book two weeks in advance. Bookings can be made in person at the circulation desk in the library or by phone. Faculty can arrange to pick up their films at either the Library or the Audio Visual Services at 2E.1. - can place orders to purchase films that they plan to use regularly for their courses. Most films purchased by Film Services include public performance rights and may be presented in the classroom. When faculty show feature films in the college, the titles must be reported to the Film Services department for Copyright purposes. Feature film movies on VHS and DVD intended for home use may not be shown on campus without a licence. Dawson College maintains a license for academic use of feature films in the classroom. Students - can borrow films for viewing in the library. Video viewers are located in the library. When students need a film from the collection for a class presentation, they should arrange to have their teacher borrow the film on their behalf. Faigy Grzeda
